Leviathon
How, |
do you do? |
Do you know? |
Who we are |
On |
our only road |
That we ride |
With no bends |
Where, |
do you go? |
Hi or low? |
To or Fro? |
No one knows |
......... |
Where, |
have you been? |
Have you seen? |
All they say |
Who, |
did you love? |
Did you leave? |
Far behind |
Well, |
on their road |
They only ride |
All alone |
With no bends |
......... |
How, |
can we speak? |
All or thoughts |
All we feel |
So how, |
can they know? |
All our hopes |
And all our dreams |
So will, |
you believe? |
What they say |
Who you are |
But who's to say? |
Who you are |
Who's to say? |
Who you are |
......... |
Feel, |
in your mind |
In your heart |
You will know |
Say, |
what you mean |
You may see |
That it ain’t so |
Pray, |
like you believe |
And may your dreams |
Show you the way |
For who's to say? |
Who you are? |
Who's to say? |
Who you are? |
She made you anyway |
Any way |
Commentary
I named this song after reading Thomas Hobbes' Leviathon. I was struck by his statement that we reason when we vebrbalize our thoughts. I'm not sure of this since first we are hobbled by language. pun intended. It may be about many things but of course it is about individuality, being human and that we all have a reason to be here, pun also intended
